Tick ‘Swimming with Turtles’ off Your Bucket List

The Prodivers team at Jawakara Islands Maldives love taking our guests on turtle spotting adventures. Turtle Rock is one of the reefs where we are most likely to spot turtles and is accessible to both divers and snorkellers. The record for the highest number of turtles spotted at the reef is an astounding 48 in just one dive!

With its location on the outer reef of the atoll, the site is also great for spotting many other marine creatures – some dwelling on the reef, others just passing by in the blue. Dolphins are regularly seen in this area from the boat and on occasion, it has been possible to snorkel with them here too.

The Lhaviyani Atoll is already known as being a sea turtle hot spot due to the largest population of Green Sea turtles in the Maldives residing at and around Kuredu Caves, and Turtle Rock, with its population of hawksbill turtles, confirms that the Lhaviyani is the place to be for anyone with a desire to dive, snorkel or swim with turtles.

If you would like to meet the turtles, join the Prodivers team on the Turtle Tour snorkel excursion for a unique opportunity to observe these ancient magnificent creatures up close and in their natural habitat. An awe-inspiring experience for nature enthusiasts awaits!
